'Tis the last day in the month of January

It's been a while... where do I start?

At one point, whenever I itched had the urge to blog, I ran into "page cannot be displayed" errors, and that "[my] request cannot be processed at [the] time". Sheesh. Potong steam betul. I got frustrated and gave up.
I didn't really plan on not blogging, because I learned from experience that whenever I did that, I tend to lose momentum. Updates would become pretty sporadic afterwards unless I managed to overcome the laziness blogger's block.

But then again, the truth is, despite the F5 phenomenon, I was still incapable of blogging as often as I wanted. Sibuk beb! And not just with the work-related stuff. Life in general got quite overwhelming. I felt helpless, sometimes lost, other times really blurr... very much errr... challenged. And Sofea is not even in Standard One yet. Yikes!!

I haven't given much thought about my resolutions for this year.
Three weeks ago I told myself that it's okay, that I should/could wait till M@al Hijr@h and think about my goals then.

Make It or Break It
Today is the 11th (or is it the 12th?) day after the Muslim New Year, and I am still in a blurry state about my plans, my to-do(s) and not-to-do(s), my to-achieve(s). I should probably begin with "this year I shall ganti puasa early and not wait till the last minute."

Several things have taken place since my last pictorial update. Here's a summary of the more significant ones.

Birthday Treats
The Friday before my birthday, I was treated to a yummy birthday lunch at Delic1ous@1U by my lunch gals. The six of us shared orders of the homemade pesto pasta (my favorite!), a salad and another pasta dish. For the grand finale, we shared three types of desserts. Lip-smacking delicious. Yum yum yummy.

Ms. Sassy Dory had agreed to crash the lunch party, which she did, so I finally got to meet this hawt chick for the very first time. She was also yum yum yummy, just like her blog. Too bad she couldn't stay long, but we got to chit-chat a bit, exchanged phone numbers, salam-ed and did the kiss-kiss. p/s: thank you for making an appearance Dahling! Muahhsss.

Went for another birthday lunch date with famyBoy on that weekend. This time it was at Chilli's. I don't remember what we ordered, but I remembered eating A LOT coz I had difficulty standing up and walking afterwards.

My mom cooked nasi beriani, ayam masak merah and made pulut kuning (this was my special request). I had a sudden craving for pulut kuning makan dengan gula for some unknown reason.

Turning 33 was very err... 'filling'. *burp!*

Of course, no birthday treat would be complete without shopping...

Sick Baby
... the BIG baby, Bapak Budak tu. The father of my children. He had very high fever on-n-off for an entire week. I took emergency leave to nurse (as in making sure he eats food and takes his medication on time) him back to health.

It scared me to see him shivering, sometimes whimpering, in the middle of the night unable to sleep; his forehead, hands and body were burning hot eventhough he was sweating. Never seen him feeling helpless like that before.

Blood tests confirmed it was not dengue fever. The doctor diagnosed him as having tonsillitis as his tonsils were red and inflammed. famyBoy complained about his throat feeling exceptionally sore and painful and had difficulties swallowing. And the very high fever? The swollen glands (of the neck)? The headache? All symptoms of tonsillitis.

Alhamdulillah, he is well now.

TLC works all the time, with ALL babies, big and small. But I realized that the Big Baby, when sick, was actually more manja and mengada-ngada. I love you, Big Baby, Sayang, but it's true. The Big Baby was more difficult to care for than a sick Sofea or Aidiin.

Fat Kitty
As if having to play doctor for one patient was not enough, Misha decided to get sick as well. One morning, when I was filling up her dish with IAMS, I saw her tummy very much bloated. It felt hard when touched. She didn't seem to be complaining (her meowing did not sound like painful meows), but she looked kinda stressed and restless. Expecting kah?

I've never caught her & Harry doing 'it', so I didn't think that she was preggy. I was more concerned about her having that uncurable feline disease called FIP.

famyBoy and I brought her to the vet to have her examined. Blood test, this test, that test... I ended up paying RM308 for her medical fees. Aduuuussss.

The blood test results came out the day after.

Over the phone, the vet told me that based on the reports, Misha seemed ok, pretty healthy for a 10 year old cat. He was quite amazed with her overall awet muda-ness. Nonetheless, her antibody count for FIP was slightly above normal, much to my dismay.

But he assured me not to worry (so long as she did not show any signs of abnormal or sickly behavior). He didn't want to rule out the possibility of her being pregnant, but it was a bit too early to tell.

Either way, it's got to be Harry's fault - he might be a carrier for the FIP virus (this cannot be determined easily tho), or he might have gotten her pregnant (you stud, you!).

Kept Misha separated from Harry for the past two weeks and she seemed more relaxed somehow.

Next vet visit in 3 weeks. Hard to imagine that I might end up being a grandma earlier than I thought. I still doubt that she is pregnant... but who knows kan?

Novel, Read
I finally finished reading the Time Traveller's Wife. Loved it. Will write more about it later.

Jack and Derek Shepherd, M.D.(s)
I finished watching the first 6 episodes of L0st (Season 3), and in the midst of watching episode 4 (out of 13) of Grey's An@t0my (Season 3). *cheap thrill*
I feel very err... up-to-date. Takyah tunggu till main kat AXN or StarWorld.

Geez... what a long entry! Let's just say I'm making up for lost time.

Have not had the chance to go blog-hoppin' yet, so until then.... I'll see you when I see you, okay? *hugs*

Welcoming Two-Double-O-Seven

As mentioned to Mr Moshimoshi who had tagged me before, completing this 101 meme would be one of my resolutions for this year. So here goes... *cringe*

THREE NAMES YOU GO BY:
a. Famy - immediate family, relatives, friends outside of my 'professional' life, blogging buddies
b. Ibu - to my kids, of course
c. Mak Long - the twins (my niece and nephew)

THREE SCREEN NAMES YOU HAVE HAD:
a. ft10
b. fali
c. famygirl/fg

I admit I wasn't much into IRC-ing those days. I'd rather be locked up in my room reading a good book. Some claimed I was being anti-social (both online and offline). But the truth is I was extremely pemalu (shy)... *blush*
Blogging was/is my new addiction (since 2004), although lately I don't get many chances to go blog-a-hoppin' much anymore. *sigh*

THREE PHYSICAL THINGS YOU DON'T LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF:
a. Lurvvve-handles. My expanding girth. Access fat saddled at the midsection area -- tummy, waist, bum, thighs. *cries*
b. My double-chin. Partly due to (a) above. I tried hiding the double-chin while donning the tudung but failed miserably. *gives up*
c. My fingers. I think they're short and fat. My mom said orang yang jari kurus-panjang2 tu biasanya rajin. So what does that make me, Ma????

Regardless, I'm thankful I still have my health. Alhamdulillah.

THREE PARTS OF YOUR HERITAGE:
I am three-quarter Malay and one-quarter Ah Moy Chinese, from my Mak's (Grandma's) side. Since my Mak met and married my Tok Ba (Grandfather) and lived in Penang for many many years before migrating and currently settling down in Melaka, I was told that I might have anak mami blood in me, too. Dunno if this is true or not. My grandparents from my Dad's side were both from Melaka, but I don't remember my Dad mentioning anything about having Baba-Nyonya heritage.

THREE THINGS THAT SCARE YOU:
a. Reptiles - all sizes and types. Creepy crawlies - regardless poisonous or not. Cockroaches, especially those flying ones. *geliiiiiiiiiii*
b. Deadlines - and yet I am still procrastinating by doing this meme. But then, history has proven that I work better under pressure. *in denial*
c. Going to toilet alone for late night shi-shi or going downstairs alone to the kitchen for late night Nescafe after watching a horror movie. I keep thinking that I will see someone else's reflection if/when I look in the mirror and I keep imagining running into something/someone scary when I turn my back. *seram*

THREE OF YOUR EVERYDAY ESSENTIALS:
a. Nescafe - minimum 2 mugs a day. Ideally 2 mugs during the day and 1 mug before bedtime. I'd suffer from headaches if I don't get my daily dosage of caffeine.
b. Munchies - cadbury chocolates or famous amos no-nut choco-chip cookies preferably. Lupakan sajalah hasrat nak kurus itu.
c. Smiles & kisses from famyBoy and these two shiny happy little people before I go off to work.

THREE OF YOUR MOST TREASURED POSSESSIONS:
a. My books, of course. All 3 bookcases and 2 cupboards of them.
b. My wedding ring and my engagement ring. My precioussssss. Also my silvery watch which was a combo gift for 3 birthdays+2 anniversaries.
c. (apart from my sleeping partner and kids) Misha and Harry, the Meowies.

THREE THINGS YOU ARE WEARING RIGHT NOW:
a. Baju kurung - orangey background with brown and orange-black flowers. Brown tudung (scarf) to match.
b. In my right eye only - Acuvue Clear contact lense with 1.75 power. Left eye is left as is. My husband calls me a pirate. I tell him it's cost-saving lah.
c. Picture ID cum office badge - (with the very masam mencuka picture), Data Center access card(s).

THREE OF YOUR FAVOURITE BANDS OR MUSICAL ARTISTS:
Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Bo Bice. Spider. Faizal Tahir (OIAM). Adibah Noor. Misha Omar is okay too.

THREE OF YOUR FAVOURITE SONGS:
Gosh... only THREE kah? Ayooo... cannot lah like that. Let's see...

Classic Hari Raya songs
Wild is The Wind by Bon Jovi
Love Song by Tesla
Relaku Pujuk and Mungkinkah Terjadi by Spider
Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad by Def Leppard
Let It Snow (yes, the Christmas song) by Sammie Cahn & Jule Styne (I obviously googled for the names of the composers :p)
In My Daughter's Eyes by Martina McBride
Love Bites by Def Leppard
Can't Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli
I'll Be There for You by Bon Jovi
More Than Words by Extreme
The Reason by Hoobastank
When the Children Cry by White Lion
Mahakarya Cinta by Faizal OIAM (including his other performances during the weekly concerts)
latest Ngetop Indon songs by Samsons, Peter Pan, Ungu dan lagu-lagu yang sewaktu dengannya
(recently) Cinta - the Movie OST

... and of course, many many many more.

THREE THINGS YOU WISH YOU HAVE BUT WHICH YOU DO NOT HAVE RIGHT NOW:
a. The priviledge to be a stay-at-home mom. I yearn for the day that I get presented with these two options: be a SAHM or continue to work.
b. No debts, no liabilities. Assets and cash in abundance.
c. Slim, slender (before kahwin and beranak-pinak) figure.

THREE THINGS YOU WANT IN A RELATIONSHIP:
I'd like to have a relationship that's build upon
a. Trust & honesty (goes without saying lah ni)
b. Reliability & understanding (always be punctual, but does not complain if I'm late/tied up with shopping-related tasks)
c. Lots of passion & gelak-tawa (humor)

THREE PHYSICAL THINGS ABOUT THE OPPOSITE SEX THAT APPEAL TO YOU:
Hmmm... My ideal dreamguy would need to have:
a. Geeky Brainy, expressive eyes, a beautiful smile, nice haircut, clean-shaven (as often as possible). Being wangi (smelling nice) all the time would be a bonus.
b. The 'troubled', please-comfort-me, serabut-dreamy look. Think Johnny Depp in 21 Jumpstreet or in Finding Neverland. Think Patrick Dempsey as Dr Derek Shepherd.
c. Having an inclination towards music, preferably sharing interests in similar music genre.

... and me as his one and only wife hee hee hee.

THREE OF YOUR FAVOURITE HOBBIES:
a. Read.
b. Shop.
c. Visit bookstores to lepak and/or shop for books.

THREE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO BADLY RIGHT NOW:
a. Go home. Or even better, go shopping. Hanging out at MPH or Borders would be ideal. Having a hot steamy mug of Nescafe by my side would be divine.
b. Continue to read this *points to book picture* which I recently started reading.
c. Take a long uninterrupted nap. Mmmmm... especially if/when it's raining outside and I'm under the covers in my bedroom.

THREE PLACES YOU WANT TO GO ON VACATION:
Locally: Pulau Tioman (never been there, almost went but tak jadi, and cannot remember why), Sabah and Sarawak. Never been to those parts of Malaysia before.
Overseas: Turkey, tour of Europe, Mauritius. And oh, Saudi and Qatar too since Elisa and Lollies are there. :)

THREE KIDS' NAMES YOU LIKE:
a. Nur Addina Sofea
b. Muhammad Aidiin Najmi
c. The name of Sofea and Aidiin's younger sister or brother. Memang target nak 3 orang anak, jika dikurniakan rezeki in future. InsyaAllah.

THREE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE:
a. Perform Hajj.
b. Have something that I wrote published. A book, perhaps?
c. Be 'there' and witness my children's special days -- graduation ceremonies, weddings. If panjang umur, nak timang cucu juga heh heh.

THREE WAYS THAT YOU ARE STEREOTYPICALLY A WOMAN, WIFE AND MOTHER:
a. I do not have problems with asking for directions, or calling up customer service/enquiries. Follow-up calls inclusive.
b. Shopping priority: kids clothes, kids books, kids toys, then something for husband, and/or something for the house. If got leftover money, then buy something for me. Also I worry if my kids have not eaten anything as 'alas perut' before we go anywhere.
c. I know the all the characters and theme songs for Little Einsteins, Bob the Builder, JoJo's Circus, Out of the Box, Dora the Explorer, Pocoyo, to name a few, and most of the Hi-5 songs. I can also sing-a-long to the entire High School Musical soundtrack.

THREE WAYS THAT YOU ARE STEREOTYPICALLY A MAN, HUSBAND AND FATHER:
a. I get teruja (excited) about new electronic gadgets.
b. I dread following my other half go shopping for shoes.
c. I am expected to be on call for work 24x7 including weekends and public holidays, and troubleshoot issues even in the wee hours of the night. But I need my beauty sleep!! Propose and make decisions on hardware purchases. Ooohhh terasa sungguh terrer... hee hee hee.

... and we're done!!! Mak oiiiii... penat nak jawab. Sampai pening kepala and rasa loya tekak.

I wasn't planning on tagging anybody at first, but I am curious to know what responses Butterflutter and Madame Zan might have. So, gucci mommas Mama Butterfly and Ummu Nael, I'm tagging you both!! If you haven't been tagged already, that is. Bila-bila senang lah ya... no pressure. *wink*
