Question to Ponder

Is it too late to ask... what have I gotten myself into?

MPH Sale Lagi

Overdue, but not yet basi entry...

Wooo Hoooo Hooooo!!! It's here! It's finally here!

Believe it or not, I wasn't really planning on going to the MPH Warehouse Sale this year because I had abused my credit card limit buying books last month. Birthday discount lah, special offers lah, bargain books lah, investment for the future lah, reward for good behavior lah... justifications shmustifications. Seriously... I am such a weak-a-ling when it comes to shopping for books. Last year, I went to the sale 3 days in a row.

This year, Madame S was kind enough to offer her chauffeur services, so me and zan jumped at the opportunity to go to the sale during lunch. Berkobar-kobar tau nak pegi, sebab kalau tak dapat beli pun, at least dapat pegi. Kira kalau dapat cuci mata pun jadi lah, eh? Sungguh pathetic diri ini. But who am I kidding, it is very true.

It did help a bit that I went with limited funds, so I had to pick and choose carefully what I wanted to buy. I told zan that I will only be spending the RM150 cash that I had in my purse, but as it turned out, I had to utilize that plastic card in the end. What's new, eh? *shrug*

I bought mostly stuff for the kids which were fun and nicely illustrated hardcover books on nature, educational books on learning math and reading, readaloud books that both parents and kids aged 2 to 5 can enjoy (zan got Nael the same set too). Also grabbed a Fisher Price toy phone for Aidiin and then decided to get Sofea something as well so I bought her a (very girly) pink Barbie mobile phone that comes with 10 interactive games. The phones were worthy purchases since both sister and brother enjoyed their gifts very much. Definitely a hit! Ibu so very clever...

What about books for moi? Since I already bought me very the many books last month (been meaning to put up entry on this year's reading list but have not done so yet) I only got two books for myself this time:
- Memoirs of a Geisha - because I lost mine which I bought about 6 years ago. Siapa pinjam tak kasi balik haaa??
- A Book on Handmade Cards - this was a 'judge a book by its cover' decision. So very colorful, so very pretty. I enjoy art-attack-y crafts and such and this book is a great addition to my library. Someday I'll be sitting down with Sofea and trying out the different designs and ideas... someday... bila tu, ya? *sigh*

So much for my no-unnecessary-shopping resolution for this year but oh well, books don't really fall into the 'unnecessary' category. And of course, nothing beats looking at the eager, beaming faces of my kids when I hand them their presents.

New Home in the Making

If you don't find me here, I might be over there. Still adjusting to the new place and making new friends. It is good to know that most of the people I know have/are moving to the new area as well.

My new place is still under renovation though. Work is progressing rather slowly unfortunately.

Anyways, do drop by to say Hi when you happen to be in the neighborhood, ya?
